The Opta SuperComputer has maintained that Arsenal remain favourites to win the Premier League title despite their 2-1 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
This marked the second straight defeat for the league leaders, following their 2-1 home loss to Bournemouth the previous weekend.
The outcome reduced the gap between Pep Guardiola’s side and the Gunners to three points.
Before the match, the Opta SuperComputer had placed Arsenal as strong favourites to clinch the title with an 85.2% probability, while Manchester City stood at 14.8%.
However, after the encounter at the Etihad Stadium, the model still rates Arsenal’s chances of winning the league at 73.0%, rather than shifting full advantage to City.
This adjustment gives Manchester City a 27% probability of finishing top, although they could surpass Mikel Arteta’s side if they secure a victory against Burnley on Wednesday.
