EPL: Alan Shearer snubs Man City, names team to challenge Liverpool for title

According to Alan Shearer, a legend of Newcastle United, Manchester City will not be vying for the Premier League title this year.

Shearer believes that Arsenal will be Liverpool’s closest rivals.

After Wednesday’s games, the former England striker was speaking.

Manchester City crushed Nottingham Forest 3-0, Liverpool drew 3-3 at Newcastle, and Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-0.

Speaking on Amazon Prime, Shearer stated: “Liverpool are favourites now for the Premier League title after their start to the season.

“It’s not all going to be perfect for them though. They will have to answer some questions, like they did at Newcastle tonight.

“Arsenal are the closest to them and they are the ones that are going to challenge them.

“I don’t see Manchester City coming back from where they are, even though they are back to winning ways. They’ve left themselves with a lot to do.”
