Manchester United winger Antony has acknowledged that the club is currently facing challenges under the leadership of manager Ruben Amorim.
The Brazilian shared his thoughts while expressing support for Amorim’s efforts this season.
He praised the Portuguese tactician as intelligent and skilled, also noting that they shared a positive working relationship.
“I have only had a short time working with Amorim, but he’s a very good, intelligent coach,” Antony told ESPN.
“United are going through a difficult time, but he’s a good coach. I had a good relationship with him but I needed new challenge. I wish him best luck in the world.”
Antony made the move to Manchester United from Ajax in 2022 for a transfer fee of £85 million.
However, his time at Old Trafford didn’t go as expected, and he struggled to secure consistent playing time under Amorim before eventually being loaned out to Real Betis.
Betis captain Isco recently joked that the club might need to start a “crowdfunding” campaign to secure Antony’s permanent transfer from United.
