Speaking Out: “Threatened for Telling the Truth About Workers’ Conditions” is the statement of an ex-worker at Bishop Oyedepo’s house.

A former employee who used to work at Bishop David Oyedepo’s house has come forward with alarming information on working conditions and says that she is currently being threatened for speaking out.

The person, identified on X as @greatness0220, described their experiences working in the home of the well-known preacher and founder of Living Faith Church, also called Winners’ Chapel, in a now-viral series of social media posts.

“You come to my DM to threaten me cos I spoke up about the treatment workers receive in Papa’s house,” they wrote, stating that their mental health was the reason they left the church.

“Mind you, it was my church before, but I had to stop for my mental health.”

The former employee provided a terrifying description of life behind the scenes in a previous post that received a lot of attention:

“I worked in Bishop Oyedepo’s house, and they throw food away every day but you as a cook dare not eat even in the kitchen. They have CCTV cameras in the kitchen that is watched 24/7. Security are always looking hungry and haggard. It’s a sad sight.”

Alongside the message was a tweet from tech entrepreneur Osaretin Victor Asemota, who expressed similar views regarding mistreatment in wealthy people’s houses.

Online debate has erupted after the incident, with many people voicing their displeasure and calling for accountability, particularly from organizations that operate under the guise of service and faith.

The church has not yet provided an official response, but the whistleblower is refusing to back down:

“I just want them to fix their workers’ welfare—especially the low-level workers.”

As concerns about the working conditions in religious institutions grow, this story is becoming more and more popular online.
