Facts about Akeredolu’s death you might not know

The Ondo State Government has disclosed the reason behind Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s death.The state government likewise declared the governor’s death in Germany.

On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Akeredolu died at the age of 67.

It was widely reported that the governor lost his fight against leukaemia, a blood cancer, following a protracted illness.

But in a statement released on Wednesday, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, described the governor’s cause of death.

He said, “Akeredolu answered the eternal call while receiving medical treatment in Germany. He succumbed to complications arising from protracted prostate cancer.

“The family and the state government will release further details regarding his funeral arrangements.”
