Foundation Announces $10 Million Donation for Disaster Relief.

DICK’S Sporting Goods and it’s affiliated foundation have announced a significant commitment of over $10 million to support communities affected by the devastating wildfires in California and the severe flooding in North Carolina.

The comprehensive commitment includes in-kind donations of essential items such as clothing, footwear, and sporting goods equipment, valued at over $8 million. These donations will be distributed to those in need in Los Angeles and Asheville through DICK’S partnerships with Good Sports and 4 Good Community. The donations will provide critical support to families, athletes, and communities impacted by the disasters.

In addition, DICK’S Sporting Goods has pledged a $1 million donation to the American Red Cross to support their relief efforts. The company will also match checkout donations at its retail stores up to $1 million, allowing customers to contribute to the cause. This fundraising effort will take place across over 800 DICK’S Sporting Goods locations nationwide.

Furthermore, DICK’S has launched an ‘LA Strong’ apparel collection, with all proceeds donated directly to the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. The collection features a range of apparel items, including t-shirts, hoodies, and hats, with designs inspired by the resilience and strength of the Los Angeles community.

“The devastation these natural disasters caused is heartbreaking, and we’re committed to helping our athletes, communities, and teammates rebuild and recover from these tragic events,” said Ed Stack, Executive Chair of DICK’S Sporting Goods. “We thank the first responders and the many organisations who are joining in these efforts to support impacted communities in Los Angeles and Asheville in every capacity.”
