Foundation donates to children’s hospital to support Infant mental health

The Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has received a $25 million gift from the Tikun Olam Foundation of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles to establish the Stein Tikun Olam Early Connections Program. The programme will provide universal, hospital-wide infant-family mental health services, focusing on trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care for infants and young children from birth to age 3.

The programme aims to advance health equity, promote early relational health, and reduce the effects of adverse childhood experiences. According to the Tikun Olam Foundation founders, Mindy and Gene Stein, “We are honoured to support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in delivering pioneering mental health care to the youngest patients and their families.

The Steins expressed their dedication to supporting programmes focused on early childhood development, citing their deep relationship with CHLA and partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles. “Through a deep and meaningful relationship with CHLA, as well as an enduring partnership with our philanthropic advisors at the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, we are dedicated to supporting programmes focused on early childhood development and a model of care to improve the lives of children and their families,” they said.

This significant gift will enable CHLA to provide critical mental health services to vulnerable infants and families, promoting healthy development and well-being from an early age.
