The Global Partnership for Education’s Multiplier Fund matched the philanthropic contributions, doubling the scale of the public-private partnership. The funding will support Ghana’s national education strategy, train over 72,000 teachers, and expand differentiated learning approaches to more than 15,000 schools

The initiative will also establish the Ghana Education Evidence and Data Lab (GEEDLab) and expand the Communities of Excellence program. According to Jacobs Foundation co-CEO Simon Sommer, “Besides the financial commitment, the SCALE partnership offers the expertise of a broad range of organisations who have helped to transform the way in which evidence is applied to education.”

Sommer added that the initiative is expected to benefit two million children across 100 cocoa districts in Ghana. “In Ghana, we expect two million children to benefit from evidence-based learning that will extend across 100 cocoa districts,” he said. The SCALE initiative draws inspiration from the successful Child Learning and Education Facility (CLEF) model in Côte d’Ivoire.
