In an attempt to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027, at least six prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Ahead of the upcoming election, the disgruntled APC members, who are uneasy with the current government, teamed up with opposition leaders on Wednesday.
According to ZINGTIE, the opposition leaders and resentful APC members assumed control of the ADC on Wednesday after deciding to use the party as their official platform to run in the 2027 elections.
Four former ministers from the previous administration, which was led by former President Muhammadu Buhari, make up the irate APC members.
These six influential people left the ruling party to create an opposition against Tinubu.
Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Transportation.
Abubakar Malami, former Minister of Justice.
Hadi Sirika, former Minister of Aviation.
Rauf Aregbesola, former Minister of Interior.
Kashim Imam, a businessman, and former board chairman of TETFUND.
Chief John Odigie Oyegun, former National Chairman of APC.
