Cote d’Ivoire head coach, Emerse Fae, has expressed deep disappointment following his team’s defeat to Germany in their FIFA World Cup 2026 encounter.

The Elephants suffered a 2-1 loss to Julian Nagelsmann’s side at the Toronto Stadium on Saturday night.

Franck Kessie had given Cote d’Ivoire an early lead in the match.

However, substitute Deniz Undav scored twice in the second half to turn the game around and secure qualification for Germany into the Round of 32.

Fae said he was frustrated that his team failed to maintain their advantage after taking the lead.

“It’s more frustration that we’re feeling after this defeat, because we were able to open the score against this strong German side,” Fae told reporters.
