Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has offered Marcus Rashford advice on how to regain his best form.
This comes after Rashford made a loan move to Aston Villa in the final week of the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old forward had fallen out of favor with United manager Ruben Amorim, prompting the need for a change of scenery.
Giggs, who has a long history at Old Trafford and was part of the coaching staff when Rashford first broke into the first team in 2016, noted that the England international has been a shadow of his former self. He observed that Rashford has not looked happy in recent times.
According to Giggs, Rashford needs to rediscover his freedom and enjoyment on the pitch to get back to his best.
Speaking to The Sun, Giggs said, “Everyone will remember that smile and that enjoyment and freedom when he first came through — but he doesn’t look like that now.
“He’s a human being and he just doesn’t look happy. He looks like he’s got the world on his shoulders. He needs to play with that freedom and enjoyment that got him to where he is now.”
Despite receiving chances to prove himself under Amorim, Rashford struggled to find his rhythm, ultimately leading to his exclusion from the first team and eventual loan departure from Manchester United until the end of the season.
