He said I should leave my door open for him by 1am – Nigerian woman narrates experience with a neighbour

After letting a male neighbour into the complex when he arrived home at one in the morning, Chioma Aniegbo, a Nigerian woman, has shared her experience with him.

The neighbour told her to keep her door open for him in what can only be characterised as pure chutzpah.

He started making video calls to her on Whatsapp after she rushed inside to lock the door.

“One of the men living opposite me came home last night by 1 am and called me to open the gate. I opened the gate for him and started going back to my house, he drove his bike to his house and said I should leave my door open for him, that he’s coming,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

“I should leave my door open by 1 am as how? The speed I used to run inside and locked my door eh. He heard it and realized that I locked my door, then called my name twice, I didn’t respond. The idiót came to Whatsapp and called me on video call. This is the last time I’ll try that nonsense, if no one else opens the gate, he’d sleep outside.”
