I decided to stay back in US because my wife and I dreamed someone would attack us in Nigeria – Pastor Sam Adeyemi

Sam Adeyemi, Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, revealed that he and his wife had been having nightmares about going back to Nigeria.

Pastor Adeyemi brought up this subject in a recent interview with Seun on the Mic Podcast, which SaharaReporters is airing. He also claimed that he had received spiritual guidance indicating that traveling to Nigeria would put his family’s safety in jeopardy.

He said, “It’s happened for 10 years now. My wife and I shifted our work to global work, so we established offices in Atlanta 10 years ago. Just so as to be able to leverage the technology and the systems in the Western world to reach the world. Reaching the whole world now does not require for you to go everywhere. You can leverage technology, right? And then all our children were in the US when the COVID lockdown started.

“Everyone stayed with their families, so we stayed with our with our children. So we stay together as a family during the lockdown, the week that I resumed services was the week that ENDSARS started started. OK, so we’re preparing to return. What then happened was when the ENDSARS ended in violence, we stay back a bit.

“When we wanted to come to Nigeria then in a different experience altogether happened. My wife had a dream. And in that dream, she travelled to Nigeria, returned to the US, and the dream was a bad dream. I told her I don’t like this dream. Three days later then I had mine. In that dream, both of us travelled to Nigeria. And in Nigeria, I was in a big fight. I was being attacked right in a violent way that I have to be asking in my heart, the holy spirit, asking you what should I do? And he said I should just call the name of Jesus Christ. I shouted in the name of Jesus Christ in the dream. And didn’t realise I shouted out and to relate my shout look my wife, Pastor Nike up.

“And she was the one that woke me up because I was still asleep. She just hit me and it was 2:00AM in the night. She hit me. What’s going on?

“I woke up and we decided we’re not taking it lightly, especially in the light of our own dream three days before. So we prayed and prayed and prayed. Whatever it was, you know it was, it was indicating danger. 3 hours later, I stepped back. I had another dream, both of us were Nigerian.

“It was another scenario and I was in a fight. When I woke up, I said to her, I have never had two dreams in one night before. Describing the same thing like Pharaoh in the Bible, we need to pay attention to this thing. A few days later, we called family members in Nigeria and one person said I’m feeling very uncomfortable about you travelling to Nigeria. We called another family member, and he said the same thing.

“From that point onwards, whenever we fixed the dates, booked our seats on the flight, I would have a dream that something bad would happen to me in Nigeria and I said you know what? I’ve been a Christian 40 years. At this point, if God is speaking to me, I should have an idea that is God speaking. Something is going on. I don’t know what it is. I want to pray more about it. And at that point, we call the meeting of all the leaders in this division centre the top 120 leaders on Zoom. And I explained, we’ve never lied to you guys before. This has been run by what God said. It was founded on what God said. I said this is the experience that’s been going on. And I don’t want to pretend that I don’t know what’s going on.

“I can’t say this is the specific person who has a problem with me, you know, wants to get rid of me or whatever. And I absolutely believe in God’s protection. But this, what is coming, is a warning. Can we keep the church going? Right. Why do we continue to pray and work on this? And they responded and said you’ve never deceived us before. Absolutely. God is asking you to stay there for now. Stay there for as long as He tells you to stay. was almost exactly 3 years before we would have the clearance from the audience for it to get back to Nigeria.

“But what eventually the police force would tell me was that he wanted me to shift my focus from just being the pastor of a local church to that global walk that I had known that I would do.

“So right now. The shift of focus is to do that global work while we keep this time running leveraging technology,” he added.
