Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince, has reacted to the criticism that followed his controversial performance at the 2026 national convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
ZINGTIE recalls that the artiste came under heavy backlash after performing at the ruling party’s convention amid worsening insecurity and economic hardship across the country.
Several critics condemned the rapper for appearing at a political event instead of using his platform to demand accountability from the current administration.
Responding to the criticism during a recent episode of the Black Box podcast, Ice Prince explained that his appearance at the APC convention was influenced by his personal relationship with the party’s National Chairman.
“Who booked me for that event? My uncle – Nentawe Yilwatda who is the APC Chairman. He is not just a random person to me. He is my real uncle,” he explained.
