Nigerians have been warned by singer Burna Boy to cease equating him with the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, the originator and activist of Afrobeat.

Burna Boy, who has been compared to Fela because of his protest music, has recently come under fire for detaining his colleague Speed Darlington for allegedly defaming him, according to ZINGTIE.

Burna Boy responded to the criticism by stating that he is not Fela and emphasising the need to end the comparisons between the late activist and himself.

He made it clear that, for Nigerians, he would rather kill than die for them.
