Jonathan only Southerner that can defeat Tinubu – Adeyanju ​reveals how Peter Obi got 6m votes

Deji Adeyanju, an activist lawyer, has maintained that the only Southerner capable of defeating President Bola Tinubu in 2027 is former President Goodluck Jonathan.

However, Adeyanju pointed out that Jonathan might decide not to run for president in 2027.

Posting on X, he wrote: “GEJ is the only southern candidate that can defeat Tinubu but I don’t think he will run against Tinubu.”

The human rights attorney pointed out that Jonathan is eligible to compete for a four-year term again under the Nigerian constitution.

“GEJ is not constitutionally barred from contesting. Our laws forbid a situation where any law would be made targeting a particular individual.

“If I try to explain this to you now, headache might worry you but have a great day sir,” he wrote.

Adeyanju further argued that Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, obtained six million votes by using the Nigerian church.

He further emphasized that Obi would not be permitted to accomplish the same thing in 2027.

President Bola Tinubu, who ran on a Muslim-Muslim ticket, did not visit mosques to solicit votes, Adeyanju continued.

He wrote: “This was how the church secured 6 million votes for Obi in 2023. We will not be alive and watch you religious bigots rewrite history.

“I can never respect a man who used religion to campaign in a multi-religious country. At least the Muslim-Muslim guys didn’t go round mosques to campaign, Obi did despite my warnings.”
