The Dangote Refinery has suspended all self-collection gantry sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), effective Thursday, September 18, 2025.

In an email to customers, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery said, “We wish to inform you that, effective 18th September 2025, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP) has placed all self-collection gantry sales on hold until further notice.”

The refinery further directed, “In light of this development, we kindly request that all payments related to active PFIs for self-collections are also placed on hold until further notice. Please note that any payment made after this date will not be honoured.”

This suspension follows a recent clash between the refinery and key industry stakeholders, including the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

Just last week, the refinery had introduced a gantry price of ₦820 per litre as part of its nationwide distribution rollout. However, the move was met with stiff opposition from DAPPMAN, NUPENG, and others, who branded the initiative “monopolistic”.

Dangote Refinery, in response, rejected the allegations, claiming that DAPPMAN had demanded a “₦1.5 trillion fuel subsidy”. The association, however, denied the charge, insisting that the oil firm prioritises foreign buyers over Nigerian marketers in its petrol distribution strategy
