Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has stated that he and his supporters are amenable to talks about forming a political coalition.

According to Kwankwaso, he and his supporters are open to speaking with anyone who is prepared to do so.

Dismissing reports of continuing negotiations with other political parties in preparation for the 2027 presidential election, the former governor of Kano State made the statement.

Kwankwaso stated in an interview with BBC Hausa that political decisions shouldn’t be made in a hurry.

According to him, NNPP members are happy with their current place.

According to Kwankwaso: “Our members are not in a hurry; everything we do is carefully considered.

“The NNPP is not in discussions with any political party at the moment for the purpose of forming an alliance, but that does not rule out future engagements.

“We are politicians, and we are always open to dialogue with anyone willing to engage with us”.

According to reports, Kwankwaso was being courted by President Bola Tinubu to join the All Progressives Congress before 2027.

After visiting the Presidential Villa recently, the former governor of Kano State ignored reporters.

There are numerous rumors that Tinubu intends to appoint Kwankwaso as a minister in exchange for Kwankwaso joining the APC.

Additionally, there are rumors of a potential alliance discussion with the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
