The New Nigeria Peoples Party, or NNPP, has stated unequivocally that Rabiu Kwankwaso, who was its nominee for president in 2023, will not run for office in 2027.

Dr. Agbo Major, the party’s national chairman, issued a statement on Saturday making the claim.

Major was responding, according to NAN, to Buba Galadima’s statements that Kwankwaso will remain with the NNPP and run for president in 2027 under the party’s platform.

Galadima further disputed that Kwankwaso would join the APC, or All Progressives Congress.

However, Major has maintained that Galadima and Kwankwaso should continue to be barred from the NNPP.

“We cannot even allow Kwankwaso for whatever reason to return on the NNPP fold because of the problems and internal wranglings he created for us,” Major said.

He added: “He does not have the pedigree to match President Tinubu in any contest and so his ambition is dead on arrival.”
