The Lagos State University (LASU) has unveiled its approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year, detailing semester schedules, examinations, and breaks for both fresh and returning students.

The approval was granted by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello on behalf of the Senate, following recommendations from the Committee of Provost, Deans, and Directors (COPDD) during its meeting on September 11, 2025. The announcement was later shared via the university’s official X handle on Sunday.

According to the calendar, registration for new students will run from September 15 to October 3, 2025. Returning students are expected back on campus from October 6, with lectures for all students continuing until December 19, 2025. The end-of-year holiday will then begin on December 22 and last until January 2, 2026.

Revision and late registration—with a ₦5,000 penalty—will take place between January 5 and 9, 2026. This will be followed by a four-week examination period from January 12 to February 6, 2026. Result processing and Senate approval are scheduled between February 9 and 27, 2026.

The second semester will begin on March 2 and run through May 22, 2026, with 12 weeks of lectures. Examinations are scheduled from May 25 to June 5, after which grading and processing will take place until June 19. Departmental and faculty reviews, alongside ICT processing, are slated for June 22 to 26, while the Senate will meet on July 3, 2026, to approve final results. The academic session officially ends on July 6, 2026.

The institution confirmed that “the first semester will span 24 weeks for new students and 21 weeks for returning students, while the second semester will last 20 weeks.” A three-month sessional break will follow, lasting from July 6 to October 2, 2026. The 2026/2027 session is scheduled to commence on October 6, 2026.
