A herder and 25 cows were killed in the Fan region of the Barikin Ladi Local Government Area, which has alarmed the Plateau State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria, MACBAN.

The herders were killed together with their cattle when the gunmen attacked them while they were grazing, according to Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the state chairman of MACBAN, who confirmed the event to reporters in Jos on Thursday.

A herder who vanished during the incident was discovered dead close to the attack site, Babayo continued.

The MACBAN chairman went on to explain that the attacks took place in two different places: the first took place in Lairi village on Sunday, and the second took place in Katang on Tuesday.

Accusing members of the Berom ethnic group of being behind the attack, which he described as catastrophic, Babayo said he had notified security institutions, including the state Commissioner of Police and the General Officer Commanding 3 Division.
