A retired school principal in Birnin Gwari LG, Kaduna State, who offered to pay kidnappers a ransom to liberate a victim, is being held captive.
In a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday, former federal lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani, who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the red chamber, announced this.
The man whose name was withheld had, in his words, been in captivity for a minimum of three days.
The tweet reads, “A retired School principal who volunteered to deliver ransom to kidnappers in order to secure the release of a victim has also been held by the kidnappers in Birnin Gwari LG, Kaduna state.
“He has been in captivity for three days now; the abductors made calls to his family for his ransom.”
ZINGTIE reports that Kaduna is one of the North West states where the daredevil bandits have been inflicting havoc in recent years.
