Coach Gbenga Ogunbote is set to continue leading Shooting Stars into the next season, having turned down an approach from Kano Pillars.

Ogunbote, who still has one year left on his current contract with the Ibadan-based club, has chosen to see out his deal.

Shooting Stars wrapped up their last campaign in eighth place on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars are in search of a new head coach following the departure of Usman Abdallah, who stepped down last month, citing personal reasons.

The four-time NPFL champions have reportedly shortlisted Mohammed Babaganaru and Salisu Yusuf as potential replacements for Abdallah.
