Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general election, and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, are expected in Jos, Plateau State, on Friday, October 23, 2026, for a Middle Belt town hall meeting.

The organisers disclosed that the gathering will provide an opportunity for Obi and Kwankwaso to interact with youths and party supporters across Plateau State and other parts of the Middle Belt, while presenting their plans for the region if elected next year.

The event, organised by the Middle Belt Youth Council, The Big-Tent, the Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, is scheduled to take place at 11:00 am at Gowon Hall, Crispan Hotel, Rayfield, Jos.

In a statement made available to journalists, the organisers explained that the meeting was designed to create a platform for direct engagement with the two politicians and discussions on political participation and voters’ responsibilities in Nigeria’s democratic process.

The statement noted that the organisers had adopted the slogan, “Be There. Talk Your Mind. Our Vote Must Count Now,” to emphasise civic participation and the need for voters’ voices to be heard ahead of future elections.

“The meeting is expected to bring together supporters, youth groups and other stakeholders from Plateau State and the wider Middle Belt region,” the statement said.
