Oladips calls out Wizkid for ‘stealing’ his lyrics

Grammy Award-winning musician Wizkid has been accused of stealing intellectual property by Nigerian rapper Oladips.

The rapper claimed that in Wizkid’s most recent collaboration with Asake, “MMS,” he stole a portion of the lyrics from his song “Ajala Travel remix.”

Oladips used his Instagram account to post screenshots of the lyrics to the two songs.

He was told by a fan that sampling was “normal,” but he maintained that it should only happen with permission.

He wrote, “It’s normal if you acknowledge the source! No be say dem go dey pretend like say dem no know you but come dey bite your lyrics for corner.”

Wizkid has not yet responded to the accusations.
