Reports that American television presenter Oprah Winfrey received $1 million to endorse Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s nominee in the recently ended US presidential election, have been refuted.
According to the Washington Examiner, Harris hired Harpo Productions, the TV personality’s company, to hold a celebrity town hall in September.
The legendary talk show host responded by stating unequivocally that she refused to take any money to support the Democratic candidate.
“Not true. I was paid nothing, ever,” TMZ quoted Oprah as saying.
Oprah declined to discuss the election results, which showed Donald Trump, the nominee of the Republican Party, win the presidency.
