Afrobeats star Davido has issued a fresh warning to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, following comments the governor previously made about Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

Davido made the remark on Sunday, shortly after Adeleke emerged victorious in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

In a post shared on his Instagram Story, the singer directly addressed Okpebholo and indicated that he intended to respond to him after getting some rest.

Tagging the Edo governor, Davido wrote, “@he_Mondayokpebholo get ready my brother! Make I sleep first. Nah me and you tomorrow.”

Okpebholo, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had during the campaign for the party’s Osun governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, criticised Adeleke’s performance in office.

The Edo governor had also alleged that Adeleke’s frequent dancing was taking his attention away from his responsibilities as governor.

Addressing voters during the campaign, he said, “For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance. Are you not tired?”

Davido subsequently mocked Okpebholo on his Instagram Story by sharing what was presented as the governor’s WAEC result.

The document, which had circulated on social media during political controversies in 2024, reportedly showed that Okpebholo sat for six subjects in 2008 and recorded four D7s, one E8 and one C5.

The purported WAEC result attracted renewed public attention after Davido shared it on social media last week.

The latest exchange between the singer and the Edo governor comes amid the political reactions surrounding Adeleke’s victory in the Osun governorship election.
