Dr. Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo, the recently assigned Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State, has proclaimed a state-wide assault on indiscipline.
Akintayo also issued a warning, saying that officers who damage the corps’ reputation would face consequences in line with current policies.
The Osun NSCDC Commandant disclosed this on Friday at his inaugural meeting with the state command’s divisional officers, area commanders, and senior officers.
The Command spokeswoman, Adeleke Kehinde, signed a statement in which Akintayo stated that unethical activity would never be accepted in any form.
He also emphasized how important it is to uphold the law and respect human rights.
“One thing I cannot stand is indiscipline to superiors and general public.
“There is a need to key into Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s agenda of repositioning the corps in order to actualize its mandates.”
He urged officers to use neither their uniforms nor rifles to intimidate members of the public.
“Even in the face of the highest provocation, personnel of the Corps should maintain decorum, never trample on the fundamental human rights of Nigerians.”
