Ahead of the general elections in 2027, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State’s Katsina-Ala Local Government Area has vowed to maintain harmony and togetherness within the party.

Ahead of the 2027 elections, important stakeholders and local party leaders also decided to set aside personal grievances and cooperate in order to create a cohesive and successful party.

At an expanded caucus and stakeholders’ gathering on Saturday, which took place at Chief Chive Kaave’s rural residence in Katsina-Ala town, the important decision was made.

At the end of the meeting, Chief Samuel Ortom, the PDP leader in Benue State, received a unanimous vote of confidence for his outstanding leadership in steering the party toward stability during difficult circumstances.

They also conveyed their sincere gratitude for the State Working Committee, led by Ezekiel Adaji, whose work has been crucial in maintaining stability and efficient operations at all party levels.

In order to prepare the party for success in 2027, the meeting passed a number of important resolutions.

Among these are instructions for all ward chairmen to call extra meetings in their wards to find and replace members who have left, especially at the executive levels.

The meeting also expressed gratitude to Hon. Thomas Tyolumun Unongo, a crucial party figure in the Zone A Senatorial District, for giving the PDP in Katsina-Ala a zonal office, which will improve the party’s operations and management.

The party’s State Auditor, Mrs. Vera Akua, reminded members during her speech that the PDP’s main goal is to fight relentlessly to unseat the current government.

She emphasized that the party’s success rests on its capacity to put up a united face and advised party members to stay focused and avoid distractions.

Following the successful departure of factions within the party, other prominent attendees, such as Hon. Tikaa Desmond, Hon. Dickson Orlu Pawa, Hon. Chive Kaave, Mrs. Juliet Yansha, Hon. Tor Aye, Robert Angir, Akwa Festus, Hon. Shimataver Aper, and numerous others, expressed confidence that the PDP is now stronger and better positioned to regain power at all levels in 2027.

Key stakeholders from other political parties decamped during the meeting, led by Hon. Ape Seza. The party leadership in Katsina-Ala Local Government welcomed them into the PDP, which was a noteworthy development.

It is anticipated that the additional members will increase the party’s power and improve its prospects of winning the 2027 elections.

The Katsina-Ala PDP is determined to regain power and serve the people of Benue State, as evidenced by their willingness to band together and work toward a single objective.
