Police extradites fraudulent Nigerian from Dubai over multi million naira fraud

The Nigerian fugitive Abubakar Aboki Muhammad was successfully extradited from the United Arab Emirates by the Nigeria Police through the INTERPOL NCB Abuja.

Following a thorough investigation into a case of obtaining money via false pretense, forgery, and money laundering, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters Abuja, said in a statement that Muhammad was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice issued by NCB Abuja.

The statement said that the investigation started when an international businessman from Abuja submitted a report in July 2023 alleging that Muhammad had cheated him while posing as a shipping agent.

Investigations showed that Muhammad had deceived the complainant in order to obtain a contract to handle the freight and payments of ten luxury cars, totaling $307,500.00, from the United Arab Emirates to Nigeria through approved registered shipping businesses.

It stated that following the establishment of trust, Muhammad illegally obtained the entire amount via a third-party account at FCMB that belonged to Anas Usaini, a resident of Kano, and utilized it for money laundering operations in Dubai.

After giving the complainant a fake bill of lading for the cars after receiving the money, Muhammad vanished from contact.

He was captured in Dubai on April 15, 2025, and has been extradited to Nigeria to stand prosecution at the Federal High Court.

The force expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Consulate General in Dubai, INTERPOL NCB Abu Dhabi, and Dubai Police for their crucial support in enabling Abubakar Aboki Muhammad’s extradition.
