Numerous global leaders have gathered in Rome as the final funeral proceedings for Pope Francis commence.

Among the dignitaries present at St. Peter’s Square on Saturday morning are Prince William, U.S. President Donald Trump alongside former President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Trump arrived at St. Peter’s Basilica accompanied by his wife, Melania, and a heavy security presence.

Also in attendance are Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French First Lady Brigitte Macron, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.

Pope Francis passed away at age 88 on Easter Monday following complications from a stroke, coma, and heart failure.

Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who serves as Dean of the College of Cardinals, is leading the solemn funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica before the late pontiff is laid to rest later today.
