Presidency reacts after dramatic exchange involving Rufai Oseni and Olayinka on Arise TV

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has reacted to the confrontation involving Lere Olayinka, spokesman to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, and Arise Television anchor, Rufai Oseni.

Bwala claimed that Oseni would struggle to advance the political agenda of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The disagreement reportedly began after Oseni questioned Olayinka about allegations relating to corruption.

However, the spokesman to the FCT minister declined to provide answers to the questions.

Following Olayinka’s response, the development appeared to upset Oseni’s colleague and fellow Arise Television anchor, Ayo Mario.

Mario subsequently brought the interview to an abrupt end.

Reacting in a post on X, Bwala wrote: “The Obidient anchors (@ruffydfire and @ayomairoese) on Arise News morning show would find it tough to push Peter Obi’s agenda this election cycle because they have been found out.

“No objectivity, double standard and blackmail are their central motivating factors. It is either you remain objective and avoid blackmail, or you will be forced to end interviews abruptly.

“The wind don blow, and we dey see. Thank you @OlayinkaLere for holding them to account.”
