Sim Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has revealed a directive he received from President Bola Tinubu during his disagreement with the FCT minister.
Fubara revealed that Tinubu gave him instructions to patch things up and get back together with his “Oga,” who was a reference to Wike.
Shortly after Wike returned to office in 2023, he and the governor fell out.
Tinubu suspended him and imposed a six-month state of emergency in Rivers State as a result of their crisis.
During a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja a few days ago, Tinubu made amends with all parties involved.
Following the meeting, Wike declared that Rivers State was once again at peace and that all sides had decided to cooperate.
However, the suspended governor called the reunion “heavy and bitter” while speaking to his supporters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday.
Fubara urged the “Simplified family,” his supporters, to agree to the peace deal.
He revealed that the reconciliation was an essential sacrifice for the state’s growth and stability.
Fubara said: “After the meeting we had before May 29th, we’ve had a series of meetings and one of the meetings we had was the one we met with the President, and President Tinubu clearly said, ‘I want you and your oga to settle.”
