Citing worries about the possible destabilization of the church, Okonkwo boldly called on Catholic Bishops to demand the resignation of the Pope in addition to resisting.

Okonkwo contended that it was insufficient for certain Catholic bishops to oppose the Pope’s unbiblical support of same-sex unions. He compared the current situation to the historical divide within the Anglican Church and emphasized the necessity for a more proactive approach.

Okonkwo thinks that permitting same-sex marriage to be endorsed within the Catholic Church may cause an unavoidable implosion similar to the difficulties the Anglican Church has faced. He insisted that the action went against God’s unambiguous instructions, citing Ephesians 5:3, which emphasizes the need for the church to avoid any discussion of such acts.
