Olu Agunloye, the National Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), asserts that the party has no interest in joining forces with any other political organization.

This was said in a statement by Agunloye, who also emphasized that the party would oppose any hostile takeover attempts by new members.

According to ZINGTIE, the SDP has accepted new members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in recent weeks.

According to Agunloye, new members must abide by the party’s constitution and rules, even though their goals may differ.

“APC and PDP, which have ruled Nigeria since 1999, have not done well.

“It is common knowledge that Nigeria is not where Nigerians expect it to be. Injustice, corruption, ‘money for vote’ elections, and high insecurity have led to economic crisis, massive youth unemployment, and pervasive poverty.

“People are suffering, and many more are getting trapped in poverty by the day. In the face of these challenges, the emergence of SDP as an alternative platform for progress has become compelling.

“This is why all SDP leaders and state chairmen are required to reach out to all people desirous of good governance to join the crusade for sustainable development and not leave this task only to our dynamic and charismatic National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Gabam,” he said.

He claims that SDP is motivated by a sincere desire to serve, inspired by vision, and pleased to state that it is based on ideology. He also asserts that the party is a powerful and dependable brand.

Agunloye added that the party would carefully steer clear of the mistakes that caused previous partnerships to fail in order to manage the surge of conflicting interests.

The National Secretary of the party further stated that the SDP would keep strengthening its institutions by strengthening all departments and directorates and improving party organs, constitutional frameworks, and membership registration procedures.
