US Senate Majority Leader reveals only way Trump can do third term as US president

John Thune, the majority leader of the U.S. Senate, has stated that a constitutional amendment is the only way for Donald Trump to be able to serve a third term as president.

On Sunday, Trump stated that he is “not joking” about running for a third term.

He said: “No, I’m not joking. I’m not joking.

“There are methods which you could do it, as you know.”

Although the U.S. Constitution prohibits a third term in office, Thune thinks that Trump could be able to serve a third term if the present Constitution is changed.

According to NBC News, Thune responded to a question on whether he thinks Trump can win a third term as president of the United States by saying, “Not without a change in the Constitution,” on Monday.

Trump doesn’t seem sincere about running for a third term, Thune continued.

“I think that you guys keep asking the question, and I think he’s probably having some fun with it, probably messing with you,” he added.
