Authorities in the United States on Wednesday, April 22, initiated a manhunt for Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, a 45-year-old Nigerian woman who failed to report to prison to commence an eight-year sentence for her involvement in a romance fraud scheme.
Prosecutors disclosed that Hall, a permanent resident based in Atlanta, was sentenced in January 2026 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, as well as money laundering.
She had been instructed to surrender by March 25 but failed to comply.
Her last known location was Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where her tracking device reportedly stopped functioning.
Although she claimed she was traveling to Minnesota to report to prison, records indicated she never boarded the flight, and investigators suspect she may have absconded.
Authorities stated that she collaborated with a co-conspirator to defraud victims by impersonating wealthy individuals such as military officers and entrepreneurs on social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
