Former federal legislator Shehu Sani has weighed in on former President Goodluck Jonathan’s recent remarks about betrayal in Nigerian politics.
Sani advised young Nigerians with political ambitions to pay attention to the former president’s experience and take valuable lessons from it.
Jonathan, speaking at the 70th birthday celebration of Chief Mike Aiyegbeni Oghiadomhe in Benin City, Edo State, shared that he had been betrayed during his 2015 re-election bid.
The ex-president reflected on the broader state of politics in Nigeria, describing it as a field marked by disloyalty and backstabbing.
Shehu Sani, who formerly served as the senator representing Kaduna Central, is no stranger to the nation’s political dynamics.
“GEJ just said that Nigerian politics is full of betrayers, liars and traitors.
“I hope young people aspiring to join politics are listening to him and learning from his experience,” Sani wrote on X.
Amid ongoing political discussions, speculation continues to grow about Jonathan’s potential return to the political scene in 2027.
Several analysts and party loyalists view him as a strong contender to lead the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the next general elections.
