Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has rejected recent claims regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of former military Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
Sani described the latest narrative about Abacha’s passing as misleading, urging the public not to give it credibility.
In a post on his X account, he wrote: “The claim on circumstances surrounding Abacha’s death is misleading. The Author couldn’t provide any convincing evidence other than literary narrative. It should be ignored.”
His reaction follows claims by former Department of State Services (DSS) Assistant Director, Dennis Amachree, who alleged that the late military ruler died after suffering a cardiac arrest while with his girlfriend.
Amachree made the allegation in his recently published memoir titled, “DSS @40: My Journey Behind the Shield.”
According to the former intelligence officer, Abacha reportedly suffered the cardiac arrest at about 4:05 a.m. inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Amachree, who served as the DSS Assistant Director of Operations and Intelligence at the Lagos Command when Abacha died in June 1998, disclosed the details in the book.
