After her spouse passed away, a woman who has claimed to be the wife of a deceased Nigerian abandoned her South African citizenship.

The woman bemoaned the way other Africans are treated in South Africa in her remarks on Tuesday.

“From now on I won’t be a South African; I’m ashamed to call myself a South African. I am a Nigerian; call me names; I don’t care.

“All I’m asking is that the Nigerian government stand and fight for our people,” she said.

According to the grieving mother, her two sons are afraid to go to school in the former apartheid nation.

Quoting her 13-year-old son the woman said: “Is it a crime to be Nigerian? Why did they have to kill my father? What kind of country is this? I’m even scared to attend school.”

She further accused the South African government of complacency and said that her husband’s suspected killer is still at large.

The Nigerian High Commission in South Africa was urged to step in by the woman who swore to seek justice, emphasizing that she would not give up until justice was done.

According to reports, the deceased Nigerian guy was killed in a case of retaliatory violence in Pretoria.
