Strait of Hormuz: UAE Makes Fresh Allegation Against Iran After Tanker Is Hit

The United Arab Emirates has accused Iran of attacking an oil tanker operated by the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, while the vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry condemned what it called a “hostile Iranian attack” on the tanker, alleging that the vessel was struck by a missile but that no one was injured.

The accusation comes against the backdrop of escalating regional tensions and increasing concerns over the safety of commercial vessels navigating the strategically significant waterway.

ADNOC disclosed on Friday that 15 of its vessels had been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz since the conflict began, with three incidents reportedly occurring within the week.

The UAE government condemned the alleged attacks and renewed its concerns about the security of maritime traffic along the critical shipping route, which transports a substantial portion of global oil supplies.
