On Tuesday, striking employees at Taraba State University praised Governor Agbu Kefas for enacting the national minimum wage, saying it was a step in the right direction. However, in order to get the institution back to normal, they asked the government to resolve the unresolved concerns that caused the strike as soon as possible.
While acknowledging the government’s dedication to reorienting the university, an associate professor on staff pointed out that only two of the six important issues had been addressed.
We are monitoring six significant concerns with the government, but just two of them have been resolved thus far. We value the governor’s efforts, but a rational resolution is required for the remaining problems, especially earned academic allowances and pension arrears.” He said.”
