Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has acknowledged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has recorded some progress in managing the country’s foreign exchange market.

Ezekwesili noted that the government’s decision to allow market forces to play a greater role in determining the exchange rate has helped bring some stability to the naira.

However, the former minister maintained that the development has yet to significantly improve the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.

She made the remarks during an interview with News Central Television.

According to Ezekwesili, the positive changes recorded in the foreign exchange market have not translated into noticeable relief for citizens struggling with the rising cost of living.

She stressed that Nigerians are still waiting to experience the broader benefits of the government’s economic policies and reforms.

The former minister further warned that the country has not completely overcome its economic difficulties.

Ezekwesili noted that widespread poverty remains a major concern, while the increasing cost of goods and services continues to put pressure on households.
