Idris Tenshi, an Islamic preacher, recently threatened First Lady Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, saying she should die since she is a pastor.

The preacher was heard in a widely shared video claiming that the Muslim/Muslim ticket that elected President Bola Tinubu was a fraud and that the president’s wife, “being an infidel should be put to death as provided for in the Quran”.

“Now, Tinubu, his wife is an infidel. As an infidel, she is a leader among the infidels.

“God’s judgement says she must be killed. She’s a pastor… a leader of infidels (Christians); Allah says they must be killed.” Idris said

Nevertheless, the First Lady stated yesterday that she is not afraid of dying since she is 64 years old, despite the threat.

Before launching several projects in the State, she made a courtesy visit to Alhaji Rilwan Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi.

In her words: “I want to thank His Excellency (Bauchi Governor), he keeps assuring me that I am safe in Bauchi but I want to say that I am too old to be afraid. If God has granted me over 60 years on earth, I shouldn’t be afraid of death.

“I thank God that you encouraged me to come. Nigeria belongs to all of us and this is the time for us to unite more than ever before.”

Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi, condemned the new death threats against the First Lady and called them a “national embarrassment.”

Speaking about the event, Mohammed conveyed his shock and called the threat intolerable.
