Tiwa Savage reveals her experience on true love

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has shared that, at the age of 44, she believes she has yet to experience genuine love.

The award-winning singer revealed that, aside from the love she feels for her son, Jamil, she doesn’t believe she has ever received true love from anyone else.

Reflecting on her previous romantic relationships, Tiwa said she has come to the realization that what she once thought was love was actually infatuation.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Because every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love. I was just infatuated. At that time I thought I was in love. I don’t think I experienced true love even when I was married,” the singer said in an interview with Zeze Mills.

She admitted that after multiple attempts at finding real love, she is beginning to believe that love might not be part of her journey in this lifetime.

“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.

Tiwa Savage was previously married to her former manager, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz. The couple tied the knot in 2013 but went their separate ways in 2018 after attempts to reconcile failed. They share a son, Jamil.
