Transfer: Napoli strip Osimhen of No.9 shirt, give it to Lukaku

Victor Osimhen’s no. 9 shirt has been taken away by Napoli due to his unsuccessful transfer to Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku will now wear Osimhen’s shirt this season.

In the hopes that he would transfer to Stamford Bridge, the Serie A club signed Lukaku to replace the Nigerian striker.

Osimhen’s future is uncertain, hence the former Italian champions have made the decision to banish him.

Osimhen is no longer a member of Napoli’s official Serie A team.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on X with the following statement: “Victor Osimhen has been excluded by Napoli’s Serie A squad list… and also number 9 will NO longer be on his shirt.

Napoli have decided to give number 9 to Romelu Lukaku with.”
