A notable portion of the funding includes a $3 million grant awarded in December 2024. This grant not only supports maternal health programs but also allocates $500,000 for critical capital and donor stewardship projects at UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital.
Janice Devine, MWRIF’s vice president of development, expressed her gratitude for the Scaife Family Foundation’s generosity. “With the Scaife Family Foundation’s generosity, more women are receiving the vital support and services they require to live their healthiest lives possible,” Devine said.
Devine also highlighted the significance of the Scaife Family Foundation’s ongoing support. “As a key leader in women’s health research, we at UPMC Magee-Womens are grateful for the Scaife Foundation’s ongoing support of programs that address critical needs of women,” she said
The funding from the Scaife Family Foundation demonstrates a strong commitment to improving maternal health outcomes and supporting women’s health research. With this investment, MWRIF and UPMC Magee Women’s Hospital can continue to provide vital services and support to women in need.
