Unknown gunmen attack Military checkpoint in Ebonyi

A military checkpoint on the Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State’s Amangwu axis of the Amasiri-Owutu-Edda route was ambushed by unknown gunmen.

The event was confirmed on Friday by DSP Joshua Ukandu, the public relations officer for the State Police in Abakaliki, the state capital.

According to Ukandu, the attack happened early on Friday morning.

“The information reaching us from Owutu Police Division reveals that some hoodlums attacked a military checkpoint on Friday morning.

“It is not yet certain if there were casualties. The attack was carried out by suspected gunmen in the area, who operated with motorcycles,” he added.
