VIDEO: Abuja student allegedly being chained by senior students cause uproar

A troubling bullying event at Beautiful Beginning Academy in Abuja is depicted in a video that has surfaced online. ChuksEricE posted the video on X, showing four SS3 students surrounding an SS2 kid who is restrained by a chain around his neck.

As the victim struggles, one of the pupils laughs and records the scene. Using abusive remarks like “baba lie down” and “you dey craze,” some of which are in Hausa, the bullies harass the pupil.

Outrage has been generated by this episode, which has been compared to a bullying situation that occurred earlier this year. A video that went viral in May depicted Mariam Hassan bullying Namtira Bwala, a female pupil at the British International School in Abuja.

Public indignation followed the tragedy, and online users demanded accountability and justice. Later, Namtira sued the school for allegedly concealing the incident and failing to safeguard her. Mariam Hassan apologised in public.
