Muhahideen Aminudeen, the Deputy Commander of the Kano moral police, responded to the development by saying that the board acted quickly after learning of the increasing activity at the location.

A temporary pilgrimage site where pilgrims gathered to drink mud water due to rumors that the spot had the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) imprint was demolished by Kano State Hisbah Board operatives.

The site, which is near the Dakata Industrial Area, was recently cleared for railroad construction. But after a muddy footprint was discovered on the ground and water began to leak from the location, it came to the notice of the general public.

Hundreds of people flocked to the location to drink, bathe, and gather the water because they thought it had supernatural healing properties, and some Muslim believers thought it was the Prophet’s footprint.

In response to the development, Muhahideen Aminudeen, the Deputy Commander of the Kano moral police, stated that the board acted quickly after learning of the increasing activity at the location.

Given that there is no historical or religious foundation for the assertions, he characterized them as hazardous and contrived.

“Some mischief makers circulated this bogus story that the place is a holy site where the Prophet set foot,”he said.

“Unfortunately, many people who lack sound knowledge of Islam were misled. We deployed officers to the scene to educate the people and dismantle the site to prevent further harm.”

Aminudeen emphasized that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never traveled to Africa, much less Kano, in his lifetime.

He exhorted people to look for genuine Islamic information in order to avoid being duped by such false statements.

“This kind of misinformation can lead people astray and even pose health risks,” he added. “We call on parents to ensure their children are properly educated in Islamic teachings.”

Additionally, he advised locals not to drink the site’s water since it might be tainted because of the area’s close proximity to industrial operations.

The board stated that it was looking into where the bogus claim came from.
